Speaking of foods that smell, what about rice? Not the fragrant rice, but
regular rice. It doesn't smell when cooking, but the leftovers the next day
already start smelling rotted.

i hate rippin' out the innards of a sow when it's dead. my uncle he
parks it up on a front end loader and like i'm supposed to do
something with it and a knife. my grand uncle used to love doing it;
cutting the tits off with a sharp boning knife etc. and pulling out
the guts. i just can't stand it. it's so ****ing gross! i'll never
get used to it.

Same here. I make broccoli for my wife and son, but now that my wife
has started cooking for herself, I guess I won't do that anymore.

Unless you're making it all the way from scratch all scrapple entails
is making the porridge. Now making headcheese can smell pretty bad.
although I love the stuff, one of my favorite cold cuts.

I remember eating Blind Robbins. They were a smoked herring in a
plastic pack. They had the nastiest odor to them but were a great
snack. They would literally clear a room.

Now that I've never had. Our leftover rice smells the same as when it
was cooking. It does have a very nice smell while cooking though; very
comforting.

Courtesy demands that it get cooked for family members. My income in the
past depended on it getting cooked for the people who paid me to cook ;P

You must've been reared in a third world country or a ghetto... modern
civilized human beings don't cook fish inside their homes. In third
world contries kitchens are outdoors, in ghettos there is no way to
escape from stenchy cooking odors regardless you don't personally
contribute. But modern civilized folks bathe regularly and eat fish
at seafood restaurants... why would anyone living in a nice home, a
clean home, want their entire house and everything in it to stink like
halibutt.

Well, I guess it must be either the brand I was using, or something in my
fridge. I imagine rice would ingest everything into it from liquid to odor.
My fridge doesn't stink though. I tend to try not to have leftover rice
because of this.
