So how come British and US soldiers keep getting blown to bits by Afghans with less resources than the average boy scout and this character, with the resources of a major Western country at his disposal, and one with few controls on the public purchasing the materials necessary to make improvised explosives, couldn't even manage a 'phut...'... On the news this morning they showed a picture of his house that had been foreclosed. It would be double plus ungood for this to become a general cause for suspicion. On the news they also showed the sign of the company he worked at. Ajilon is a large IT consultant company. They used to be top 50 in the field but I haven't checked their size lately. I'm an IT consultant at a smaller company in the field. We IT consultants tend to travel a lot. |

Why isn't Timothy McVeigh referred to as Christian Terrorist? Islamic would also be a bad choice of words. Islamist would be fine, because he is likely associated with the movement that aims to create Sunni Muslim theocracies in many of the Muslim dominated countries, possibly even doing away with those borders in favorite of one giant caliphate. But again, why wouldn't we call McVeigh a *Christainist* terrorist? Why don't we refer to the Hutaree as Christainist terrorists? Even this Wiccan site doesn't go that far, instead calling them "Christian warriors": http://thewatch.wicasta.com/?p=1057 Do you think there is some possibility that "the media" is trying to be even handed? Even more ridiculous is the fact that Eric Robert Rudolph was given a life sentence, when there is no question that any Muslim who committed the same act would have been given death. The parallels between Rudolph's case and that of Islamists is strking. Why didn't the Bush Administration insist on the death penalty for this terrorist. Because he was THEIR terrorist. He shared many values with hardcore "Christianist" voters, who tend to strongly support Republicans. You have any other explanation? Why didn't they use Guantanamo-style interrogations to try to find the folks who hid him? You can't answer that, can you? --Bryan |
