I stop by once in a while and if there is something going on I stick
around. If I connect and there is nothing happening I disconnect. If I
have to say something to get people back from whatever else they are
doing, that is pretty much like there nothing happening.

Either you want a lot of activity or you don't. You have to say
something for the people who are logged in to notice you. They aren't
sitting there staring at the screen eagerly awaiting your unannounced
arrival. <shrug>
