I remember eating your lemon blueberry cake and it is gooooood. Also, very suitable for pic-a-nic. Glad it was enjoyable! (You're so right to avoid restaurants on this day.) Our simple meal was: Costco filet mignon - barbequed, by Dad Sauce bordelaise - this was in the freezer, got thawed and heated Baked potatoes Sauteed mushrooms Dad served the New Mexico pinot I bought him as part of his Christmas. Dessert was kahlua truffles (Kay Hartman's recipe) and some peanut butter squares made from Nigella Lawson's recipe. Mom also found the last two pear bars (this is pear on a shortcrust type base with a pastry topping, similar to how Dutch apple pie works) in the freezer.
