That, or we are so sweet talking and genteel, that even though we are
fighting, an outsider would never know it. We cloak our words in
velvet and sugar....

It's like "Bless his/her heart".....

It's also a natural diuretic - when I've had to make weight for a meet,
it's one of the foods I try to have the night before for dinner.

It seems like it would be VERY salty, no? Since you posted it,Dimitri,
I'm inclined to trust it :-) Maybe it's the aging process, but I seem
to be bothered more and more by salt in processed foods. I have
actually made my own dry onion soup mix but it still uses bouillon
crystals so it's probably as salty as the brand name one.

Oh crikey, now I have a hankering for tuna casserole! I make mine with
white sauce to which I add sauteed mushrooms and onions. I like peas or
spinach in mine, and sometimes a bit of cheese melted into the white
sauce if I'm of a mind. And I augment the breadcrumbs with toasted walnuts.

Pretty caloric stuff but tasty!

Trader Joe's chicken broth concentrate in packets
is very low in salt -- I sometimes end up adding salt
to my soups because it's so low, and I normally eat
a low salt diet. They have a chicken flavor and a
vegetable flavor. I don't remember whether they have
a beef flavor, because I don't eat U.S. beef products
anymore.

Good tip, Mark, I'll look into it. The homemade onion soup mix I keep
on hand is made with beef flavor, but given that I only ever use it in
other recipes (bread, etc) and not as a soup, it might be fine.

Andy only wants to be a Southern Lady........I heard a rumor he got tossed
from Fredericks of Hollywood trying to get someone to help him re-enact the
corset lacing scene from Gone with the Wind.

<snork>

Too funny.

Reminds of me a woman I once worked with - she was so "genteel" that she
could tell people to Go to Hell in such a "nice" way that they actually
enjoyed the trip. ;-)

OBFood: We're having pot roast tonight that was made sans canned soup...

Yes, and the guys who raped them committed "nasty, sloppy" and "wrong"
acts, "out of desperation."

I don't give a shit if you think my comment was in bad taste. Eating
tuna noodle casserole is like sliding into a raw bleeding orifice
filled with the semen of thirty other men, and Charlie doesn't want
tuna with good taste anyway.

Can you still get cream of shrimp soup? I haven't seen it in years.
I have a recipe that calls for it and I have to substitute cream of
celery (the recipe also has both shrimp and celery in it -- like yours.)
