It was was it purported to be: a Usenet group where recipes and only
recipes could be posted; where one didn't have to wade through a bunch
of sick computers, dead cats, political arguments, smack talk, legal
threats, or lunatics with an axe to grind in order to find or request a
recipe that was just a recipe.

It was what was advertised.
