(seems a little redundant) Won't it be way too salty? And I like salt. Bob |

What I meant to say was that you'd be wasting perfectly good carrots, celery, onion, potatoes, and even a can of green beans. I also think you'd be wasting money on buying the canned peas, which are hideous. I dislike peas, make frozen ones for my family anyway, but peas are like spinach and asparagus in that whether you like them or not, they just don't work canned. > > > nb --Bryan |

Both get added to whatever right at the end of cooking so they mostly just get thawed and heated thru rather than cooked. I never had much use for them canned. Used some last night in a casserole. I don't care for frozen peas, guess it's because I grew up on canned peas. |

I don't like peas much anyway, and cannot eat frozen ones or fresh ones cooked - as a matter of fact, I sometimes buy the Stouffer's Chicken Pot Pie (the ones with white meat only) and pick out all the peas in the filling, so I don't have to eat them. LOL. Hey, I'm old, I can do what I want. N. |

When I was a kid growing up in the forties and fifties my Mom's favorite dinner-time phrase was "Eat it all up baby, there's children starving in (pick whichever third world country was having a famine at the time). I once offered to pay the postage to send some terrible tasting to me food to China and got whupped up on pretty good for the suggestion. As I have probably stated many times, the only thing good about my mother's cooking is that it was free. |
