... > DISGUSTING! > http://www.calgaryherald.com/health/...694/story.html She is very much in denial. She contradicted herself a couple of times in just these sentences. <<"I'm very healthy. I go to the doctor every three months," she said.>> No she's not -- he has type 2 diabetes She says <<"she [Simpson] has battled weight issues all her life and was mercilessly teased.>> But then says: <<"I've always been comfortable with myself," she said. "It was just everybody else that wasn't comfortable with me.">> If she felt mercilessly teased, she wasn't and isn't comfortable with herself. If she "battled" her weight issues, she knew she didn't want to be fat. Very sad. Read mo http://www.calgaryherald.com/health/...#ixzz0qOtMpHWX |

A few weeks ago, I was at Safeway and marveling at all the fat women I saw that day. Probably just a coincidence, but there were fat women in the parking lot before I even entered the store. But what really impressed me was a mother/daughter pair, the daughter being maybe about 20 years old. Both about 300 pounds, with a strong family resemblance. I suppose it makes mom feel more comfortable when the daughter takes after her, and the daughter feels free to indulge without restraint. |

It runs on a pay-per-view basis. Fans pay to watch her eat food. <http://celebgalz.com/donna-simpson-donna-simpson-becoming-worlds-fattest-woman-photo/> your pal, blake |

Whatever the details, it really is awful how all of you get to take a piece of it. Re-read all these comments if you substitute hairlip for overweight/obesity. |

It sounds like this woman is mentally ill. Others are born with a wayward gene (there is an Indian tribe in the USA that on western food balloons to grossly overweight plus diabetic.) Overweight is the one condition that everybody feels free to be cruel about. |

I hadn't heard of that. Can that gene not be overriden (so to speak) by meds/treatments in some way. I read a lot recently about genes being changed in some way! Hopefully, that could be of use to that tribe. I do know that western foods have that effect on people who are new to them. Hell, they have that effect on me!!! -- -- https://www.shop.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

That's spelled Tohono O'odham incidentally. That these tribal peoples developed high rates of T2D after culture change that included shifting to eating federally-issued food is not in question. But what role either food, or genetics, plays in this is pretty unresolved. Various scientists babbling about "thrifty genes" are generally not credible. Steve |
