My 19 YO son got a summer internship with Marc Summers productions in
Philly. A great gig for a film and TV production student just finished his
freshman year. He's met Marc several times and said he couldn't be nicer.
He's working on transcribing audio for last season's Dinner Impossible and
will be doing some production stuff for 'Food Feuds'. He's having a blast.

Marc Summers is sometimes a guest and calls into 93.3 WMMR, the local rock
station. Last time he was looking for guests at a local restaurant
re-launch. He seems pretty cool. Sounds like your son will have fun. Does
your son go to Temple by any chance?

How marvelous for your son! I can't stand Marc Summers' personality on
air, but I'm sure he's providing your son with incredible exposure to
his chosen field. I bet its quite interesting work.
My son recently started with Google, and I couldn't be happier.

Congrats to your son.

Someone should tell wardrobe not to paste so much makeup on
Summers....he looks ridiculous on camera.

It sounds like a terrific experience and opportunity. Your son sounds
pretty self-confident to take it on as a freshman. Congratulations to him.

As a matter of fact he does. I listened to 'MMR for years. Do you work
there?

My cousin's daughter got a job with Google last year and loves it. Neat
company, and they really treat their employees like family. Good for her!

He's pretty driven to make it in his chosen field. He makes a lot of his own
opportunities and always seems to deliver.

No I don't work there, lol, but I've been a huge Philly radio fan since the
70's (WIOQ, anyone?), and know a lot of local musicians that have been
supported by Philly radio stations. I graduated from Temple, CAS '87.
Temple has a very well-regarded broadcast/telecommunications/mass media
department , I figured if your son got an internship with Marc Summers he
must be a Temple student. :-)
