O+(NxS)+Cpm/T+He
Smile, today's the happiest day of 2010 * From: NewsCore * June 18, 2010 7:26PM JUNE 18 is the happiest day of 2010, according to an algebraic equation. June 18 is the happiest day of 2010 based on a calculation of feel-good factors including ability to be outdoors, social interaction and happy memories, the Irish Examiner reported. According to British psychologist Dr Cliff Arnall, the formula for happiness is: O+(NxS)+Cpm/T+He. The formula is otherwise translated as being outdoors (O) plus nature (N) times social interaction (S) plus childhood summer memories (Cpm) divided by temperature (T) plus holiday excitement (He). Dr Arnall explained that the happiest day can vary from year to year and country to country, based on different cultural factors. "The third Friday in June came out with the highest rating due to peaking factors, such as warm summer evenings outdoors, seeing friends more frequently, and excitement about holidays," he said. The timing of the World Cup and Wimbledon and excitement sports fans feel about the events significantly buoyed the happiness score for June 18, 2010. -- Peter Lucas Brisbane Australia Pain is your friend, your ally, it will tell you when you are seriously injured, it will keep you awake and angry, and remind you to finish the job and get the hell home. But you know the best thing about pain? It lets you know you're not dead yet! |
