Probably won't make it into Philadelphia, but having lived in the area for many years, we aren't looking to do the tourist thing this trip. Mostly we are visiting family and friends. But.... Sour cream was on the pickled herring. -- Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get. |

The German side of the family made it with sour cream. I think most Eastern European countries have a version using sour cream as well as just water and vinegar. Who's to say which actual country started it all those millenia ago.
