Does anyone know who manufactures the small appliances currently sold
exclusively at Walmart under the GE (General Electric) Brand? I've searched online but was unable to find anything about it. I bought a Cuisinart 4 in 1 Griddler indoor grill last year. It works similarly to the George Foreman grill, except it has removable plates and 2 sets of them. (Flat griddle and ridged grill) It also can be used either as a contact grill or you can open it flat to use both sides, cooking one side of the food at a time, like a pancake griddle. Well... I brought the first one back, because the thermostat didn't work properly: as soon as you put food on the thing, the green light turned off and the thing cooled off rapidly and did not come back to temp quickly at all. I exchanged it for another immediately, and that one worked great. Until a week ago. Would come up to heat but as soon as you put the food in, forget it. It wasn't cheap, either. This lists for $150. I paid about $100 on sale. For $100 I would expect more than a year out of an appliance, particularly one made by Cuisinart! Anyway, I learned it has a 3 year warranty, so I'm going to pack it up and send it back to NJ and let them either fix it or replace it. Meanwhile, I picked up a similar indoor grill at Walmart for $50, branded GE. (Link below) I know GE doesn't make the small appliances bearing their name, they just license the name to Walmart. But I wonder if it's like Kenmore... everyone knows most Kenmore appliances are made by Whirlpool or Frigidaire. I know "Applica" makes Black and Decker branded items. Salton makes the George Foreman Grill. Sensio makes Bella Cucina and "Cooks" lines for JC Penney. Just wondering. I'm giving the CUisinart one last chance to work properly, and if it lets me down tonight, it's going back. For those curious, this is the grill I bought. Haven't set it up yet, like I said, I wanted to give Cuisinart one last chance at dinner!!! http://www.gehousewares.com/Browse_P...category_id=15 Does anyone have the Griddler, btw? Do you like it? Have you had trouble with the Thermostats? Does anyone have the GE version? Thoughts? Thanks in advance. Sheryl |

GE hasn't made a good product in decades. Last GE fridge I saw died within one year. Our GE cordless phone is garbage. You couldn't give me anything branded GE. nb |

Lowest bidder this week in China. May not be bad for the price, but it is certainly not quality appliances. |

Now, it's heating only one side of the waffle, so I have to flip them over when they're partly done. The control wanders all over the map, after I managed to glue the knob back on. I will never buy another Cuisinart product - period. Thanks for the GE warning. I had no idea. |

OP hasn't use the GE yet. Cusinart stopped working after a year. |
