Beer Bread 3 cups self-raising flour 2 tablespoons sugar 12 oz beer, room temperature 7 tablespoons melted, unsalted butter Preheat the oven to 350°. Combine flour, sugar and beer in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly. Pour into a 8x4 inch loaf pan. Spoon 4 tablespoons melted butter evenly over the top and bake in the middle of the oven for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes take the bread out of the oven and brush with the remaining butter. Return it to the oven and continue baking about another 25 minutes or until the top is golden brown, the sides shrink away from the pan slightly and a tester inserted in the center comes out clean. -- Forget the health food.
