I know a goodly number of you guys out there are food bloggers, as I
attempted to be. I have gotten derailed and haven't posted anything in a
while. I looked at Chris D's blog and she is not up to date either (sorry,
Chris, yours was the first on my list to look at). Is anyone else having a
difficult time getting their blog current? Is it the season, the amount of
work involved? I'm just curious.

I am dieting. It's difficult to photograph food when you are dieting unless
you invite guests. The things I am still making are things I blogged years
ago, like jams, moussaka, focaccie etc. I'm trying to do a series on
portable foods, but whoìs going to eat it?

I thought of blogging the diet. (recently started WW) Is that something you
might consider........the ups and downs, failures and successes?

I'm not a food blogger but I enjoy reading them... and trying not too
sound too much like a party-pooper I think keeping a kind of 'dear diary'
thing about the WW diet (and many other diets) has been done already by
many others and may not be such a 'fresh idea'. An alternative could be to
just focus on the meals you've made and enjoyed (because I know that WW
food can also be pretty darn tasty if the dieter happens to be a good
cook) and you might be able to add some 'zing' e.g. ideas/recipes that
other WW-ers might like? Just my 2 cents worth and feel free to tell me to
go to hell...

I think it's a good idea. Most of us could stand to lose a few pounds
and it's always nice to do it with a friend. I went on WW after my
second child, lost around 30 pounds and ate well while doing it. I
had purchased a WW cookbook and used many of the recipes from that.
We ate a lot of my recipe chicken soup and my recipe home made rolls
too. It wasn't a spectacular weight loss, but it was within the
parameters of what WW says is healthy of 1-2 pounds per week.

It's possible to eat pretty normal food when on a WW diet. My sister
was on it, and I stayed with her a couple of weeks. I wasn't trying to
lose weight, and was just fine on it. There were differences. I'd put
mayo on my sandwich when she would use just mustard, and I'd put butter
on some things and she wouldn't, but the basic food put on the table was
the same.

WW is a common sense diet. I like it!

I love her blog and I don't do South Beach. She doesn't dwell on the
diet, but labels recipes appropriately.

I haven't posted since the end of April. It's been a low priority item
for me (and it's not like I've got a boatload of people who read what I
post there). I keep saying I'll catch up ‹ I've got the pictures,
that's for sure. :-)

My general food blog is a sporadic thing by design. I've posted fairly
frequently since 2006. I'm starting a new blog, though, and I'm taking
it pretty seriously; gonna take photography lessons, etc. It launches
on the 1st, and I'm totally jazzed. I got the domain and hosting
sponsored, and I have people helping me with it, so if I lose steam,
they can take up some of the slack.

(It's a gift to my mom, so I'm not posting the URL here until I show
her, but you're on my Facebook, so you may have seen me talking
wayyyyyyy too much about it lately, because my mom doesn't do Facebook.)

I do mention it occasionally, but since my blog is mainly for clients or
potential clients it doesn't seem too great to talk about needing to diet
(after I eat my own food?) I can't be mentioning all the time that this is
weight I gained from quitting smoking, because it seems too much an excuse
after a while. So mostly I invite people over and feed them something I
want to publish, which I did last night with an idea for pasta presentation.

I don't like the food blogs that plug products, books and are
generally over the top commercially. I will not subscribe to most of
them I see right away are so commercial, unsubscribed from some that
turned the corner commercially and don't read others even though I'm
still subscribed to them. I should unsubscribe so they won't be using
me as a statistic for advertising $$, but it only just occurred to me
that's the way their game is played.
