Our high in Louisiana will be about 103 today. You should see the birds
on our birdbath, they are lined up. I remember one year, where it was 99
or over for 6 weeks in a row.

Last night I cooked Steve's recipe for Vietnamese grilled pork; I used
that to make Bun Thit Nuong. It was wonderful and I can't wait to make
it again, especially in this hot weather.

I lived in Lafayette for six years. Been out of every boat dock from Venice
to Port O'Connor, TX. Talk about food! It's a sport down there. Had a
Cajun MaMa in Sulphur, and MomMom in Scott. Dem ladies cooked da ole
fashion way, and spoke mostly Frainsh. Dem wuz le bon temps. Hard work,
good food, good fishing, and the fay do do's. Mai oui, daincin in Mamou.
Places with real screen doors. Saw Asleep At The Wheel at some little town
near Texas/La border. Screen door.

That was a fun time of my life. Where you at, cha?
