All hell breaks loose when police shoot dogs here, too. There was a case
about a year or two ago where the house of a mayor of a nearby city was
raided and the elderly mother and wife were bound by the police and the dogs
shot all because of a shipment of drugs not meant for them.

I remember that case, in Berwyn Heights, MD. The mayor's name was
Calvo. The police knew the drugs were not intended for Calvo,
*because they planted them* on the porch. They went apeshit when
someone inside the house saw them lurking outside and "blew their
cover". One of the dogs they shot was running away and they
followed it into the other room so they could shoot it.

The police deny any wrongdoing, have only conditionally cleared
Calvo, and as far as I know have refused to settle and a lawsuit is
still pending.

If someone as politically-connected as a mayor still hasn't gotten
satisfaction after 2 years, what chance to any of us peons have?
