Default Tme for county and regional fairs again !!

The NW Washington Fair here is always a lot of fun. In today's
paper there is a story about one woman who wins tons of blue ribbons
for her baking and canning.

There is also a very yummy sounding blue ribbon winning coffe cake
recipe.

One of the things have around here in abundance is berries. This
time of year is berry heaven.

No, I've never been to that one. It is pretty far South of me. I'm
up near the Canadian border.

At the Minnesota State Fair, there are two grand poohbahs, one for
baking, The Queen of the Kitchen; and one for canning, the Prestigious
Processor of the Pantry. Lame names if you ask me, but all in good fun.

First time I won the PPP, I was taken quite aback‹I'd not given the
possibility any thought. The next year (I think it was the next year)
there was a tie in points (they award 3 points for blue, 2 for red, 1
for white). To break the tie they added the scores on our individual
scoresheets for our entries. I believe the total was 1167 (mine) to
1171 (hers). LOL!! What's that? Less than one-tenth of one percent
difference, I think. Makes a great story.
