Thinking of having a gathering focusing on sardines, soda crackers and
a fishing theme. Ideas?

We had dinner at a friend's house in Sweden and the first course was
what I fondly remember as "The Great Herring Exposure".

We were served a platter with knackebrod (crackerbread) and various
other crackers and a selection of herring:

--in white wine
--in mustard
--in tomato sauce
--matjes (in a mild marinade)
--with chopped onion and parsley
--in sour cream

I smiled but shuddered inside. I was sure I didn't like herring.
It was delicious with cold beer.

You could do something similar with sardines and other small prepared fish.

National Sardine Day is November 24th. So every 4 years it's the same day
as Thanksgiving. No thanks.

Oh, and National Fresh Breath Day was August 6th.

I want to know what you decided on for your '70's theme. As far as
your fishy theme... sardines???? Sheesh. It's all about the herring,
my friend.

LOL! You're soooo bad! I was joking, but serious. Her part of the
USA had a Scandinavian background and pickled herring is delicious.

And today is National "Kiss and Make Up" day.

So OK, I'll start: I'm sorry blake. I don't know what came over me. Can
we just bury the hatchet and move on?

It wouldn't be complete without sardine ice cream, or a topping made of
pureed sardines.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!

We missed it? Where was Pam, she fell down on the job!

I wonder what she decided on for that '70's buffet?
