Ok I have ideas but not sure where they lead let. I have cabbage, mussels,
lots of garlic and butter and thinking of dinner. Humm. I have no other fresh veggies except carrots (not even an onion). All the dried spices you can probably think of though. |

I'd use June Oshiro's (an erstwhile poster) (in)famous cabbage recipe, add the mussels and cook until they open. I'd add garlic, too. Here is the recipe in June's own words: "chop cabbage to chunks. add water or stock and simmer in a pan until the leaves are wilted and soft. add 5 big squirts of hot chili sesame oil (rayu or layu, i have seen it spelled both ways). add soy sauce or memmi to taste. add a splash of aji-mirin. add lots of fresh cracked black pepper. simmer until everything is as soft as you like it. add more water if necessary."
