I was watching her show and she made a comment regarding the liberal use
of vegetables and rustic cooking as being the new "gourmet cooking".
Nice to see after all these years I'm a "gourmet" cook

I saw an episode today that made me wonder if the new penny shine isn't
starting to wear off on that "30 min meal" show. She wasn't her usual
ratcheted up Rach. She just sort of mechanically slogged through like,
"Hey, it's a living". Didn't say, "evoo", once! Not that I blame her. The
material they give her on that show would make a lightening bolt nod off.
OTOH, the "$40 day" show she recently did on her home town was registered Rachel.
It also provided a lot of insight into her background and character. Would
anyone be surprised to learn she was captain of her highschool cheerleading
squad? I thought not. It's obvious she still enjoys doing the "30minmeal"
show. She continues to gleefully spew her painfully perky personality all over
our living rooms. I, for one, enjoy it.

Given the choice of what TV cook you'd want naked in the kitchen, she'd be
the winner. Emeril wouldn't have a chance.

Well, HELL YEAH, she'd win out over Emeril! But would she win out over Giada
De Laurentiis or Nigella Lawson? What about Sandra Lee? And I've always
thought that Sara Moulton is a fine-looking woman, too. What's the name of
the bimbo who co-stars with Tyler Florence on "How to Boil Water"? She looks
like she's been naked in the kitchen more than once.

Hasn't there been a series of bimbos on that show? I don't
watch it very often, but isn't TF at least the third chef?

No way. My vote you go for Nigella.

Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake
when you make it again.

Since months ago, and what was wrong with the french guy, I liked
him. Von Capernol, something like that.

There was nothing wrong with him. I think it was actually the stupid hot
chick that made me dislike the show. I'm starting to realize that ALL
cooking shows are aimed at people who haven't a clue in the kitchen.
When, if ever, will we get an 'advanced cooking' show? It seems most
just regurgitate the same old stuff week to week.

"America's Test Kitchen" is on PBS and has some pretty good episodes. They
appeal to my version of logic (which may or may not match others).

Jacques Pepin has a new one, called Fast Food My Way.

Sadly, it seems to be on only one station in Washington, and not one that I
can get.

I agree. I don't watch anything but Good Eats anymore, though I will
have to keep my eyes out for when they air the episode of All-American
Festivals that they just filmed at our state fair last week.

I only watch on PBS the show My Hero these days. Not much worth
watching television anymore...
