Default Apple butter

I have made some apple butter, following the recipes I have read about here.
Now! How do I use it?

Well, other than the best thing ever on hot, buttered biscuits, here's
a very old country recipe for
a stack cake that has been around for 100 years or so. Your apple
butter would be wonderful for that.

This recipe includes making the apple butter, so you can skip that
part.

Warning, it's not a quickie recipe, but it's one that would be perfect
for a special occassion.

On toasted bread, scones, etc. is my favorite way. Some people use it as
a condiment with pork or poultry.

Try it as a fat substitute in stuff like brownies.

Simplest us is just on toast.

Mix with a combination of any of the following as a filling for a tart,
stollen, or strudel:
Apple butter, chocolate chips, raisins, coconut, walnuts, dried cherries.

Agreed. Apple butter is much sweeter than applesauce and would make a
lot more difference in flavor and texture in baked goods.

Just like any other jam or jelly. I particularly like it on fresh, hot
from the toaster cinnamon toast or hot buttered raisin bread toast.

But then i like it on pancake and muffins as well as sometimes brushing
it on sliced fruit (apples, pears etc.) & onions that i occasionally
bake in the oven to later puree for soup.

I have had it served as a curry condiment and it can replace applesauce
with pork chops. Topping for a meat loaf?

Like jam or jelly. You can have it on toast or crackers.

I have to ask..... Why would you go to the effort of making it if you
didn't know what to do with it?

I prefer it as a condiment to accompany grilled or roasted pork; also
grilled chicken. You can also put it between two layers of a cake --
perhaps a spice cake? Put a gob on a dish of cottage cheese. Spread it
on a plain scone or a piece of toast.

Anytime. No problem. You're welcome. My pleasure.

A friend of mine fills small tart shells with apple butter for her
Christmas baking somewhat as one does with mincemeat. Makes a nice
change.

I can agree with all those uses but cottage cheese, apple butter and
cottage cheese, Jeez Louise, sounds horrible.

LOL! Goomba! Ophelia has just gotten over one strange ingredient from
this side of the pond, and now you've introduced her to another, even rarer,
one. lol There is a long time poster on here who has been known to ship
one to cookins, etc. occasionally.

boli, I just figured TPR has been spoken of here on RFC for so many
years that it might be understood.
Even though I'm not up north, home of TPR, I can buy it at Publix down
south.
When I was a kid growing up in Texas we'd always get some carried in
when people came to visit. Come to think of it, that was back in the
days of folks making beer runs west to get Coors too. Foodies (and
drunks, lol) *will* do what it takes to get their fix, huh?

You're slippin' Barb. You forgot to tell her to BWB it and put a purdy label

Whyever not? Do you never think something sounds nice enough to try out?

BUT the fact is I had a lot of apples to use up and this sprang to mind. I
have been thinking of making fruit leather with it.

Yep I was thinking of making apple leather. I think I will prefer it as
