All the RSVP's are in....... we have 54 guests coming for the SO's 50th.
It's going to be even bigger than my 50th!! But then, mine was held on a houseboat in the middle of Moreton Bay, and the party lasted 17 days :-) One more shopping trip coming up, and I'll do a last minute check to make sure I have all ingredients for multiple desserts, the starters (Holy Crap!! I just remembered I'm out of Wonton wrappers!!), and the BBQ mains. Tomorrow is work day, have to get a load of paperwork etc out of the way to free up the rest of the week till Thursday when I'm back on 24/7 call (till Sunday night!!)...... and Monday is planning day to plot on what day, when, and at what time, different dishes have to be started/finished/prepared.. Tuesday is shopping day (still have to get her a present!!), and Wednesday on is prep and pre cook...... barring any work related callouts. Airport pickups are arranged, accomodation for o/s and interstate guests are locked in, lighting has arrived, the cover for the back deck will be raised on Saturday afternoon and lighting fitted, after which the function hall will be prepped for the main body of the party. I'm starting to champ at the bit, the juices are flowing, and the blood is bubbling........ I know it's going to be a long week, but I'm itching to get started. This is the 'buzz time'... the excitement of knowing you're going into a shit-storm, and as soon as it starts, it's game on, head down, arse up and go go go :-) -- Peter Lucas Hobart Tasmania If riding in an airplane is flying, then riding in a boat is swimming..If you want to experience the element, get out of the vehicle ! |

I will note the use of the spelling "arse" in this post as compared to the term "shiny-assed" in the thread about the kid at the White House. Makes me wonder whether that White House thread was started by the manlymail guy -- or whether Swallows *is* the manlymail guy. Bob |

I will...... honestly I will!! :-) > > You better take pics this time tho' ya bastid! <lol> I'll make sure I keep the camera close by...... might have to get someone else to take the shots though.... Some of us are starting to join the dots, so to speak. Note the typical timing of all the Peter posts. There is a pattern there and it suggests they are coming from one and the same person, namely Peter Lucas himself. What may make no sense to us, may make perfect sense to Peter, particularly if his objective is to try to to garner sympathy and / or attention. |

Does anyone else get on their knees and elbows to cook? Or were you not talking about cooking? Ruth |
