An it's staffed by Mexicans. Unless Bryan is claiming a taqueria is NOT fast food, but rather a mom and pop who doesn't deliver.... Heh. -sw |

Some were lentils and split peas. But by the time they were all cooked about half the varieties were mush. I'd not cook lentils and split peas together either. I prefer to cook one type of legume at a time. I'll eat this soup but I'd not do it again. I froze most in pint containers and transfered the remainder to fill a 4 quart pot. I intend to try gifting as many of the frozen pints as possible. |

Del Taco is Mexican inspired fast food, not a taqueria. > > An it's staffed by Mexicans. Not around here, it's not. It's not exactly fast food, as everything is grilled/assembled to order, and there's one lady doing all the food prep (the owner). Try going in there with 10 hungry people and see how long it takes to get all your food. A mom, but no pop. > > -sw --Bryan |

Can accomplish the same thing by using one kind of bean but adding like 1/3 to start and the rest after an hour... but at least it'll taste like one kind of bean instead of a potful of mud. I don't want my navy bean soup thickened with split peas and lentils, and many beans just don't go well together, like limas and kidneys. I mean I understand eating for sustanence as a POW but in my world I don't appreciate bean soup a la TIAD. |
