There is no more netiquette. Certain people kill newsgroups.
Consider all newsgroups to be dead. In other words, don't worry about
it. You'll be fine. Since you are honest, I'm sure you will govern
yourself.

Correct. There are no rules on the internet anymore. The amount of
people who care are so few.
