Another panko demonstration. Panko is the best breading out there.
It's nothing like bread crumbs. Much lighter than any traditional breading or batter, and has the best crunch for the buck. This is "Captains Catch" tilapia which are individually wrapped and frozen 6oz fillets for the restaurant business. They have changed my attitude towards tilapia. Each fillet is super-meaty, and non-muddy tasting. And they only cost $1.68/lb in 20lb boxes. They are excellent tilapia. http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/7730/fishfr1.jpg -sw |

DUH >http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/7730/fishfr1.jpg Looks like any other bread crumbs... and they're greasy, fried at too low a temperature and not properly drained. After eating 20 pounds of tilapia the dwarf will become a guppy! LOL |

You know, Jay, they say the holidays are the worst time of year for manic depressives. You always seem to show up around this time. Go apologize to your family and see if they'll have you back. If not at least for the next 5 weeks. You're right, the lime was old. But the juice inside is just fine. -sw |

The potato wedges at the top of the plate are nicely done, as are the shrimp. Very tempting treatment of a tasty fish, and that price is amazing. I bet their pretty good with panko too, but nothing could displace the corn meal in our house. > > Everything looks well-breaded, crisp and tempting. *The potato wedges > at the top of the plate are nicely done, as are the shrimp. *Very tempting > treatment of a tasty fish, and that price is amazing. *I'll bet the only > people who don't like this picture had a lot of tilapia while in prison. I've posted links twice to videos on how it's made yet people still say stupid stuff. When I posted a picture of the panko breaded green tomato and one of the responses (with no quotation) said they saved old bread I knew it was a lost cause. But lets keep up the quest to educate those who don't know any better and post pictures of the results. >Much lighter than any traditional breading or batter, and has the >best crunch for the buck. >This is "Captains Catch" tilapia which are individually wrapped and >frozen 6oz fillets for the restaurant business. You got malt vinegar mixed in the ketchup? Lou |

I can't actually see the picture I posted so I don't know what looks like what. But it's all good. -sw |

Big seller in the restaurant business since the fillets are easier to skin and can be sold as catfish at the AYCE buffets and Friday fish frys. But the other half of their purpose is to clean up the bottom of tilapia ponds between harvests (bottom feeders). I still buy them when they look well treated. >>http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/7730/fishfr1.jpg > > Good looking meal. You got malt vinegar mixed in the ketchup? And a sqwert of sriracha. And that's White Trash Kraft Tartar Sauce. Not the even more simpleminded White Trash mayo that Sheldon suggested. -sw |
