Default Whistle Vac 6 Piece Vacuum Sealing Food Storage System

My collection of mismatched plastic ware is reaching its lifetime limit, and
is in a holding orbit over the trash planet.

Recently, I saw the Whistle Vac 6 Piece Vacuum Sealing Food Storage System
offered on QVC. I thought the price wasn't quite fair, so I decided to do
some more research.

While surfing, every link to "Whistle Vac" miraculously wound up at QVC.
Deceptive internet practices aside, QVC doesn't provide any real data on
the quality of said product or comparisons with other "burping" storage
ware.

Any owners of this system care to share their experiences?

How sturdy?
Plastic quality?
Any visible heat damage from microwave?
Discoloration?
Utility evaluation?
Vent and valve functionality?

Any suggestions for other storage systems appreciated.

Thanks to all who reply.

Hi - I have the 3 piece set, and I love it! When you close the lid and
squeeze the air out, you can't get the lid off even after you release
the locking latches until you open the air vent. It keeps cheeses, cold
cuts and anything else fresh much longer. The largest of the ones I
have is big enough to hold a bundt cake.

The quality is excellent - the set is sturdy, and I've had no problem
with discoloration. I never use plastic in the microwave because -
alhough not yet proven - there's some preliminary data that indicates
nuking plastic produces carcinogens, but QVC stands behind their
products and even if you've used the set for a few weeks and decide you
don't like it, you can return it for a full refund.

I suspect this product is exclusive to QVC, which is why you can't find
it elsewhere.

Hope this helps!
