Default Pineapple processing tip

I had just cut up some nice, pink grapefruit into sections and juice,
so the curved, serrated grapefruit knife was already out. Next, a
pineapple faced me, which I'd been avoiding for 3 days. (Pineapple
was on sale for 2.99, so couldn't resist.)
After it'd been quartered into 'boats' and the hard core removed, I
sliced the quarters crosswise, (port to starboard), and lastly tried
the grapefruit knife. It did a dandy job of separating the meat from
that hard rind. I was moving the knife away from me, and felt a lot
safer than wielding a sharp knife as I used to do.

Hope this helps. Double use, at least, for an infrequently used tool.

Even better for cucumbers, is a serrated-edge grapefruit spoon because
the bowl is a better shape for the center where the seeds are.

I love grapefruit. I got into the ritual of cutting the sections apart
then then using the grapefruit knife, eating the sections, and then
squishing out the juice. I hated it as a kid but loved it as an adult.
Then I found out that it interferes with my diabetes meds. Now, no more
grapefruit for me. It's sad.

I used to love grapefruit but I developed an aversion to it. Somewhere
along the way I discovered that grapefruit causes a lot of gastric
problems for me. The last time I had grapefruit I was so sick the next
day that I had leave work before noon.

Grapefruit alos interferes with some heart medications

James I have the same problem with a med I take, but asked DR and
he said just wait til 3 hours pass from med to grapefruit and there
will
be no interaction. Check with your DR. Could be the same situation.
Enjoying my graprfruit juice again now. Nanzi

I was told by a registered nutritionist that if you take the meds at
night, a little grapefruit the next morning certainly won't hurt - the
meds are in your system by then. The nutrition from the grapefruit
will probably do ya lot more good than skipping it entirely.
