Never saw these before- but they are apparently Betty Crocker
'classic'- From this site; http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/b...er-dips-134525 Look pretty tasty- BC> Butter Dips BC> Adapted from Betty Crocker. Makes 12. BC> BC> 1/4 cup unsalted butter BC> 1 1/4 cup flour BC> 2 teaspoons sugar BC> 2 teaspoons baking powder BC> 1 teaspoon salt BC> 2/3 cup milk BC> BC> Heat the oven to 450°F. Cut the butter into four equal pieces BC> and place them in a 9-inch-square baking dish. Put the baking BC> dish in the oven to melt the butter. This will take about 5 BC> minutes; remove the baking dish once the butter has completely BC> melted. BC> BC> While the butter is melting, whisk the flour, sugar, baking BC> powder, and salt together in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the BC>milk quickly, stopping as soon as a loose dough forms. BC> BC> Sprinkle some flour over a large cutting board or pastry mat. BC>Turn the dough out onto the mat and press lightly into a long, BC> narrow rectangle. Use knife dipped in flour to cut the dough into BC> 12 equal strips. BC> BC> Take each strip and place it in the baking dish, turning each BC> strip to cut it into butter. Repeat with all the dough and place BC> the strips close together in the baking dish. Hmmm-- what to have with biscuits tomorrow night? Jim Bake for 15 minutes or until puffed and golden. Let cool for 5 minutes before breaking into individual strips and eating. |
