How would you interpret the following statement? BTW, The phrase "Each
microorganism" refers to already chosen two microorganism, one is a pathogenic and the other is not pathogenic. " Discuss the differences and similarities in the role that each microorganism fulfills in their ecological niche." |

Nothing to do with Chemistry. It's the English which troubles her. Since it's nearly Christmas, I'll rephrase the question : "There is MO A and MO B. The questioner might have a couple of different things in mind, and it's not clear from what you've posted what they're thinking. The simplest answer would be just to compare the organisms' respiration and metabolism -- e.g. are they anaerobic or aerobic, are they fermenting sugar, are they photosynthesizing, etc. That would be my immediate interpretation of the question. The more complex answer would be a sort of macro description of how the organisms affect other organisms in the environment over time -- which species they feed on, which feed on them, what happens to populations of species over time, or what effects there are on water, air, and mineral environments. If the questioner is known for issuing essay questions with lots of conclusions being drawn this is perhaps what they are looking for. Steve |
