Nothing to do with Chemistry. It's the English which troubles her.
Since it's nearly Christmas, I'll rephrase the question :
"There is MO A and MO B. Both have found ecological niches
and adopted broadly similar strategies. Point out the similarities
and differences of their strategies."

The questioner might have a couple of different things in mind,
and it's not clear from what you've posted what they're thinking.
The simplest answer would be just to compare the organisms' respiration
and metabolism -- e.g. are they anaerobic or aerobic, are they
fermenting sugar, are they photosynthesizing, etc. That would
be my immediate interpretation of the question.

The more complex answer would be a sort of macro description of
how the organisms affect other organisms in the environment over
time -- which species they feed on, which feed on them, what happens
to populations of species over time, or what effects there are
on water, air, and mineral environments. If the questioner is known
for issuing essay questions with lots of conclusions being drawn
this is perhaps what they are looking for.
