A good friend would drive 30 miles at 2:00 am to bail you out of jail.
A best friend, however, would be sitting in the cell next to you saying

NICE!

That beats my boring black plastic job. Still, makes the Spresso fine and dandy.

DON'T LOOK AT THIS, JULIAN!!! I keep waiting for him to bring home an
industrial-strength machine with an eagle on top.

:-)

I did a Barista course when I went on holidays down to Sydney earlier this
year, and when I got back I 'suggested' to the Directors that we get a
decent coffee machine for work, as we have a lot of 'hob-knobs' always
coming through from head office.
It was begrudgingly approved, so I bought one for the office about 6
months ago, and the boss and his wife had a bit of a whinge about it (even
though they *love* the coffees and mochachinnos that come from it!!), so I
sent them this video about 2 months after it was purchased......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ku1s...eature=related

It's Australia's top 4 baristas agreeing with me that the Sunny is the
best machine on the market :-)

(The video quality is not that good, but you get the message :-)

The one we have already does. He knows what it takes to mollify me in

We have a bit of 'give and take' at home..... if she wants something, we
always get it, and if I want something, we debate it, discuss the pro's
and cons, and I get it about 25% of the time :-)

Which is pretty good, because if I got my way with *everything* I wanted,
we'd have no room to live ;-)

Sunny was a no brainer at least..... she has tried my mochachinnos at
work, and when I said we were getting rid of Max and getting Sunny, the
only comment was "Make sure you sell Max, don't give him away."

Too late. I looked. Peter's new espresso maker looks ike a nice unit.
We have an Isomac Millenium, a big stainless steel beast. These are
also sold in Oz, as evident by the last pic on this page:

<http://www.euroespresso.com.au/pages/coffee-machines.htm>

For me, the main disadvantage of the Isomac is the vibratory pump, which
is really loud when running. Our beast is still going strong, but if I
had to replace it I would look for a unit with a rotary pump (less
noise), and a PID temperature controller (which allows you to to fine
tune the extraction process).

Sigh. I can only turn green though. So, you can still enjoy
coffee? I hope.

I surely can...... now one of the few small pleasures I can ingest.

You can't drink coffee?

I have a (female) friend who likes to have a *good* coffee now and then,
but it sends her loopy!!
Much like bubbly does to my SO, if she drinks it when she's happy, it
makes her *extremely* happy, but if she's a bit down when she has it, she
gets *really* down.

If my friend drinks coffee when she's feeling good, it puts her 'off the
charts'... so she usually only drinks it when she's feeling she needs a
boost.

Thank you :-)

This conversation prompted me to go and buy some decaf coffee for my friend,
to see if that will be OK for her next time.

It's the same brand of coffee as the one I drink, just 'water decaffed'.
