We didn't have anything snacky / junky in the house -- we do have
popcorn, but I wanted something different -- and I didn't want to go to the store. We do have plenty of Cheerios and nuts. I remembered references to fried Cheerios. I looked up a few recipes, which all involved toasting Cheerios in melted butter then tossing in some salt and seasonings. I used "Complete Seasoning" power (salt, onion powder, garlic powder) and added some walnuts at the end. It was good! It was very reminiscent of Chex mix. I would have added a dash of Worcestershire if I had any. I almost added a bit of Tabasco. Maybe next time! Tara |
