Default Winter Time Grilling

Does anyone use a Tuscan Grill in their fireplace? I think about
having one every winter. This one seems better suited for outdoor
cooking http://www.spitjack.com/page/SJ/PROD/FIREGRILL/SRGRILL
but this one seems perfect for inside

I just bundle up and go outside and use the grill!

Did you ever know anyone who had one?

A jacket and lamp would be cheaper.

I have both, and use em. Got my chair, side table, lamp (use a
industrial type like you see at Home Depot) and a book.
Side table is for the beverage of course.

Plus, they don't have winters in SF!

Low today was 48F. High was 48F. Low tomorrow is predicted at 51F,
high 60F.

I don't have one like that, but I do use grates in my wood stove. It is fun
cooking over a fire on a cold winter day. Most of the time, it is grilling a
steak, but I've also done a leg of lamb, spatchcocked chickens, etc. Oh,
baked potatoes, of course, are superb.

My local dive uses the first one to grill meats. The chef pulls coals out
of the pizza oven onto a stone counter and this sits over them.
The second one is like the one that can go on my Franklin stove. I don't
have it. I have a stainless steel flip grill like a fish grill but square
and with legs. I don't use it much now that I have the stove instead of the
FP going.

I don't know why it's called Tuscan unless they figure the word sells. Most
are made in China I believe.

My fireplace is a sealed gas unit.

I use the grill outside anytime it's over 20 F and not too
windy. DH installed a couple of lights that point right at
it for grilling in the dark.

It's winter enough for me. My bbq isn't in a convenient location and
I'd rather use my fireplace.

My gas grill is out on the patio, so I would have to shovel the sidewalk
out there and the patio. It is not a sidewalk I would otherwise have to
clean. Plus, it's dark out there at supper time. We have a grill pan
that we were using instead of outdoor grilling. Now we have a Cuisinart
indoor grill and it does a great job.

Just stay on top of chimney cleaning, because grease added to creosote is a
deadly combo.
