Default tomato salad as a first course, side course, after main course?

I have a terrific cherry tomato salad recipe made with tamarind
dressing. I'd like to serve it at a dinner party but can't decide to
make it a first course, a side dish for the beef stew, or a salad
course after the beef? Thoughts?
