Default dishwashers again

Today in the Houston Chronicle there was an article about dishwashing
detergents and how they don't clean very well anymore. All the things we
talked about on this news group were covered and also according to Consumers
Report the best detergents right now are Finish Quantum, Finish Power ball
tabs and Cascade complete all in one. No mention was made of Lemi-shine. I
will probably try the finish detergents but am glad I know that in case they
don't work I know lemi-shine does. The article did say that they were
working on a solution.

Dishwashing or dishwasher!? Two different things.

The main purpose of dishwashing detergents is to cut grease, which the
do quite well. Dishwasher detergents are a whole other ballgame.

Does Lemishine make a detergent? I've only seen the additive to get
calcium off of your plates and glasses. Curious minds and all that.

We've been using Cascade for years with no complaints.

I have switched to the Cascade complete and the glasses are
coming out much better.

I guess adding citric acid to their product isn't as easy as it sounds.
The Lemi-shine sure was an improvement.

I think that thread began because someone was blaming it on the
dishwasher (and was ready to replace it), not the detergent...
