Yesterday I saw a bag of pureed mango in the
frozen food section at the grocery. Mango, yum, but I always eat it fresh. ok, cuisine arteests, sound off - -- Rich |

They live and die by Mango pulp. Frozen, creamed, canned, dried, instant, etc. I think mango is the second most common foodstuff behind rice in Indian cuisine. Strangely, mango anything is conspicuously absent in the Indian section of most gringo mkts. nb |

Around here it's virtually impossible to find a fresh mango that is likely to ripen properly. It doesn't help that they are very expensive. Frozen mango will never be as good as a nice fresh and properly ripened mango, but odds are it will be a lot better than 95% of the mango I get. So I buy bags of frozen mango. I take it out of the freeze and slice it up. It melts enough in 10 minutes to mix with yogurt for breakfast. |
