Default mango puree

Yesterday I saw a bag of pureed mango in the
frozen food section at the grocery.

Mango, yum, but I always eat it fresh.

If you live in an area with even a decent Inidan population, find an
Indian store. They live and die by Mango pulp. Frozen, creamed,
canned, dried, instant, etc. I think mango is the second most common
foodstuff behind rice in Indian cuisine. Strangely, mango anything is
conspicuously absent in the Indian section of most gringo mkts.

I like fresh mango in my Greek-style yogurt. I'm thinking pureed mango
would make that yogurt wonderful. I wouldn't like it if the pureed
mango had added sugars, however.

I'm going to look for it at my grocery store.

Hey Squirts, haven't you been looking for something like this to fill your
enema bag?

Around here it's virtually impossible to find a fresh mango that is
likely to ripen properly. It doesn't help that they are very expensive.
Frozen mango will never be as good as a nice fresh and properly ripened
mango, but odds are it will be a lot better than 95% of the mango I
get. So I buy bags of frozen mango. I take it out of the freeze and
slice it up. It melts enough in 10 minutes to mix with yogurt for breakfast.

I'll bet it ferments like gangbusters if you add justa bit of water and pitch the yeast when it's between 60 and 90 degrees (f). I've never made mango wine, but I bet it's tasty.
