Default Finally learned what those bugs are

When I was in the Korean food store last week,
I finally learned what those canned insect larvae
are. I'd seen them before, years ago, but all
I had to go on was the picture on the can.
I was thinking they were bee larvae. But in my
latest visit, the cans had labels pasted on that
identified their contents. They are silkworm
larvae.

Oh, they're not larvae, according to Wikipedia.
They're pupae.

I didn't buy any, and I don't have any plans to.
Unless I send a gift box to somebody. :-)

So that's what they do with them after they take them out of their
silk covering. I figured they went to fertilizer, but what was I
thinking? If it isn't poisonous, it's food.

Addendum: Now I want to know what the label says... my nephew, who
also lives in our general area, just posted this
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-12216355 - so I need to send
him a "buy this product " (cough) suggestion .

<evil chuckle>

I was going to suggest this too. I wish Steve would eat some new disgusting
stuff.
