Hi Larry,
Bit of a long-shot but you may just get this message...!
Does the hob not switch off automatically after about 3 hours? I'm looking for a hob that I can leave all day on a very low setting.

Why not just buy a slow cooker? They come in different sizes if
you don't need one that will feed a large family.

Ours didn't switch off unless you programmed the timer to do so. But the
manuals of any current models you're considering should tell you explicitly.

We built a house in Florida in late 2012, with a GE Monogram full
induction cooktop, which doesn't shut off either, inless the pot is
removed or it overheats for some other reason. I don't have the Burton
any more.
