Does anyone know a source of no salt cottage cheese. All the
supermarkets I have been to have cottage cheese with salt added, even
organic, low fat cottage cheese. I have written to the major
supermarkets to ask about plans to eliminate it in view of recent
recommendations but none has replied positively. Are there small
independent dairies where it cna be bought?

In New York City supermarkets, both Friendship and Axelrod "no salt
added" cottage cheese is available. Axelrod's is tastier.

In New York City supermarkets, both Friendship and Axelrod "no salt
added" cottage cheese is available. Axelrod's is tastier.

In Winnipeg...my Safeway's carry's it. Had some for lunch about 2 weeks
ago.

I don't know about small independent dairies (so why answer? I dunno!),
but Hood and Friendship both make no salt added cottage cheese. I think
it's 1% (low)fat for both brands. I've seen the Hood at Stop and Shop and
Shaw's supermarkets here in New England. Stop and Shop also has their own
store brand of it, but it's the only store brand no salt one I've seen.
