Sorry Barb, but until you fill out my seven page security
questionnaire, in triplicate, from a non-Microsoft platform, notarized!, I do not feel comfortable submitting personal information to a unknown internet webpage. See you in the funny papers! ![]() nb |

What personal information? Dang. This would be easy if I knew what unknown internet webpage I must have referenced. I don't have a copy of the mail, either, because I sent it from my newsreader. Huh! It might compromise your email security program if other everyone else saw it, too. I understand what your doing, Barb, email security and all that. A wise step, no doubt. But, the onus should not be on me. It's your email security program/service. You have my email address and email headers. You should be able to configure the program/service you've chosen to get me authorized without any further input from me. Apparently, this email security program/service is not even telling you what it is doing. Not an encouraging sign. :| nb |

When You send an Earthlinker an email for the first time, you get sent to a web site and you have to kind of prove that you aren't a spammer. I can imagine a case where I'd make an exception (if I needed to send the email for work reasons, for instance), but for social contact between friends? Nope, not going to go through the internet equivalent of a metal detector first. Serene -- http://www.momfoodproject.com |

Real PITA OH! ...So Barb is not even aware her MSA/ISP[1] is doing this? That's really slimey. Just another case of foreign entities exerting control over your computer. I find it rather unsettling, not to mention insulting, that it's illegal for you or I to break into and take control of another person's computer, but it's perfectly legal, and quite common, for software and hardware companies to do exactly that. And you hafta agree to an EULA allowing it to occur in order to use their products. Outrageous! And ppl wonder why I constantly harp on the advantages of Linux. You computer's security is your own responsibility and ppl better start owning up. Otherwise, others will happily relieve you of that control. I certainly don't want to offend Barb, who I do consider a dear friend. I think you've summed it up nicely, Serene. Thank you. Barb, darlin', I'd say you need to have a friendly lil' chat with your ISP. ![]() nb |
