Default Dinner and a kitchen mishap

I made a shrimp and broccoli Alfredo. The recipe is in the link. I cut
it back a little, but left in most of the called for amount of shrimp. I
cut the pasta amount in half, used whipped cream cheese instead of a
block, but not quite 6 cups of broccoli. This recipe is a keeper,
though I can't make it often due to the fat content.

http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/B...Shrimp-Alfredo

When I was peeling the raw shrimp, I realized I hadn't gotten a bowl out
to put them in. I had a couple of shrimp in my left hand, and reached
for a bowl in the cabinet on the top shelf with my right. Somehow the
whole stack of bowls fell out onto the counter top. I lost a small glass
bowl, 2 older stoneware bowls (side dish sized) and the rest survived. I
really hope I got up all of the shards. I vacuumed several times.

Jill will be crawling up your ass for using cream cheese. She's just
bitter about everything these days.

So sorry about the crash. Get a flashlight, turn off the other lights and
shine the flashlight around the area to see if there's any shard sparkling.
If so or if not, blot the area with the sticky side of duct tape or masking
tape. I nearly never break anything but when I do, it's a major mess - last
one was a quart of mayonnaise; thought we'd have to tear the kitchen out and
build a new one. Polly

Thanks Polly. I will do that now. I have cats so I worry about anything
broken that might hurt them.

Cheryl, I hope the stoneware pieces that broke were not special family
pieces or anything like that. Glad you didn't get cut in the process.

LG is an idiot. Why on earth would I get upset about cream cheese? I'd
probably have used neuftchatel; less fat

Sounds tasty! I'll put it on my list of things to try Neufchatel is a
lower fat choice than cream cheese. Indulge!

I'm sorry you lost some of your bowls. I do hope you got all the shards up!
You don't need to step on that kind of reminder.

The dwarf shouldn't butt into what he knows from nothing... cream
cheese is not cheese, not in the biblical sense, unlike other cheese,
it's not processed with rennin... cream cheese is like fresh
milk/butter. And canned tuna is no longer fish, not in the biblical
sense, the processing makes it a cold cut same as canned ham (fresh
ham n' swiss is TIAD). Lox too, the process neutralizes its fishdom,
that's why cream cheese and lox is TTDF (Taste To Die For). The dwarf
has BIAD (Brain In Ass Disease). Ahahahahahahahahahahaha. . . .

You'd best stick to PB & J on Wonder... that encompasses the full
measure of your culinary knowledge.

No, just cheap stuff that my mom gave me when she got new dishes. No
cuts. No signs of any more shards.

So far so good. Now I get to shop for some bowls. It made such a huge
racket to have those bowls all come down. I think I'm going to rearrange
the cabinets and put the heavy stuff lower.

I've been inspecting all 16 paws and haven't found any cuts, no one is
limping, so I think we're good. No carpet here to hide anything.

One of my stepdaughters had a whole bunch of trays and crap piled up
on top of her refrigerator. I was trying to get a platter down when
the whole stack shifted and came down on me. I saw stars for a few
minutes, lemme tell you.

Note to self: put heavy stuff that might freakin' *brain* you below

Sorry for your loss. Durn - bowls aren't cheap. Check your local
thrift shops. I saw authentic copper bottom Revereware in mine - 4
bucks for the saucepan.

Maybe this is a warning to us against the nesting of bowls.
