It is an inference. I get that at some level the Pakistani government is infected with religious zealots. What level does matter and I'm gueesing that they are mostly at comparatively low levels. It's only a guess on my part. > For all you know she might have done just that, gone down to the > military base and asked for help and been dragged back kicking and > screaming. More likely she'd have been killed for telling. To me that's my main reason for thinking she was not innocent. > The thing that is bothering me about this is that I can't really imagine > the Pakistanis not knowing where he was. > > And if the Pakistani governmnent was in fact colluding with him, that > could be very, very bad. > > I can't see where there's really a lot of choice but to take down the > Pakistanis at this point, and that thought scares the crap out of me. I do not want yet another front. Like with the Saudis I would rather work with an unpopular government and see what progress can be made. |

I hope I never experience the US massive retaliation policy. I hope no future generation does, either. |

I don't want any cities or any holy shrines or any major population centers to become craters. I do think there will be no nuclear attacks on American cities. It's because of the massive retaliation policy. We get nuked it isn't just other population centers that get nuked in return. It's Mecca. If some fundie is crazy enough to trigger even that, my heart weeps at the thought. My hope is that none want that sort of obvious response. It's also why Jeruselem will never get nuked to not get the same response. |

That wouldn't be a "risk" for them, it would be an _objective_. You're really far too nice to ever make a good spook. |
