These analogies aren't perfect, but they are illustrative. Getting on
the NG and posting about this great new dish one has concocted is like
a guy saying that he went out and met this amazing gal, and they
stayed up all night making love. Posting about a new, creative recipe
that just didn't turn out well is like that guy saying that he met
this gal, and talked to her all evening, and he really thought there
was a spark there, but then he finds out that she's happily married.
A lady from the Upper Midwest posting about making a hot dish with
leftovers and condensed "cream of" soup is like the guy saying that
instead of going out, he just stayed home and masturbated.

His autoerotic evening might even have been somewhat pleasurable, but
is it really the sort of thing one has any business calling attention
to?

I've got two flats of impatiens to plant. And I've got some brush that

I have to go with the words provided me by my young Slovak cousin, Bob.
My inquiry of the appropriate phrase returned "Dom Schallerovych." And
as I understand it, had I been referring to my family, it would have
been rodina Schaller'ova (the "family" belongs to the woman but the real
estate belongs to the man, I guess). :-)

Thanks for the information! My query was based on the fact that I think
"vych" means "son of", and it didn't make sense to me for "son of" to be in
there.

Looks a lot like the recipe I have for chicken noodle bake.

One of our treats is to go to one of the local restaurants for a
"chocolate dipped." Their small is more like a medium.

OMG...that was the same menu item over on this side of town last night as
well! Something must've been in our MN air yesterday. I used to always
just serve it over biscuits, but tried it over rice a couple months ago in a
pinch when I was out of Bisquick. I actually like it over rice better.
Only I don't use the Cream Of soup as my base: just plain ol' milk, flour,
butter. My chicken was from a can, however. What can I say -- I'm a sucker
for childhood comfort food, and baby girl was sent home early from daycare
with a fever and a tummyache yesterday. Had leftovers for lunch today.
Even better the second time around.

:-0) Jinx, my usual way for creamed chicken is with a roux and
chicken broth (one way or another) along with some milk - maybe half
milk, half broth. I'm out of broth and I'm out of base, but I did have
a can of the Campbell's in the basement. :-) I usually put it over
toast but didn't feel like going back downstairs for a loaf from the
freezer.

My sympathies Nurse Ratched. I've been tired like that. I keep a
couple of cans of Nalley's chili on hand for that occasion. A little
shredded cheese, chopped onion and tomato and dinner is served. If
there are corn chips for scoopers, that's an extra. )
