Default Fridge mat: useful or waste of money?

I saw these today in my produce aisle. Two bucks for a mat upon which
I presume one is to place veggies in the fridge. Are these worth
using? Advantage over other methods of storage?

Dunno about dedicated "fridge mats", but I use pieces of cheap waffle mat cut to
size in my fruit and veggie bins. They maximize air circulation around the food
and minimize the chances of the food coming into contact with any moisture that
might collect on the bottom of the bin.

Larry described the reason to use them perfectly. They are a good
thang!

Too much missing information.

I've had green mats that were sort of spongy and designed to put in the
crisper drawers. I liked them. If they were those then you might want to
get them.

Wouldn't those incontinence wee-wee pads for bed wetters work as
well... perhaps fill the veggie bin with an inch of clumpping kitty
litter.
