It was brought to my attention that most people here on rfc don't
mention what country they live in when discussing topics. Perhaps it would be interesting to see what percentages of posters in rfc live in each country. Please respond to this post with the name of your country. After the thread burns out, we'll see what percentages we have of each country. I'm under the impression that as much as 90+ percent of the posters here live in the USA. Let's find out. I live in the USA. |

But looking above and seeing that - USA - made me laugh. It reminded me of how it's often chanted at sporting events - "USA, USA, USA!" I remember the first time I heard it was while watching a tv wrestling match between the villainous "Sheik" and some American dressed in red, white, and blue. The crowd would chant USA, USA - rooting for the american to destroy the evil menace. But later (and this is where the humor comes in), I began to notice the chant even in sporting events in which all the contestants were American. It's a mindless follow-the-leader type thing - like the backwards baseball cap. It's right up there with, "Get in the hole!", at golf matches. In the beginning this would be yelled only while the golfer was putting or chipping or shooting from a distance in which the cup could be reached on one swing. Now I hear them yell it even when the golfer is teeing off from 500 yards out. As soon as he hits the ball they yell it - "Get it the hole!" That and the USA chant sort of remind me of each other. Obviously you don't understand that there are so few people here WORTH talking to. I've already decided to leave. The tiny bit of actual food talk here is so small now that it's not worth the bother of putting up with all the assholes. You people deserve each other. There are about a thousand food groups on the net. I'll go find one where it's moderated and the assholes like those who have taken over rfc aren't allowed. |

Well, as this is my last post here and certainly my last time reading any of the attack/counter attack nonsense that has taken over rfc, I'll say only one thing; it took me only twenty minutes to find a moderated food/cooking forum on up-to-date software that will be where I enjoy posting and reading. RFC is nothing but a group of about a dozen small-minded bullies who post nasty comments back and forth at each other. You people enjoy your non-food group. I'll be in a real one with real, polite people who know how to talk to each other without attacking each other in every post. Good riddance to all of you. You deserve each other. You'll note that I didn't share where I've gone. That is simply to keep you bunch from even thinking of going there. Enjoy your dog fighting pit. |

Boy, your knowledge of the world is astounding...nay one might even say precocious for one so afflicted by an unfortunate accident of birth. -- I read about an [Inuk] hunter who asked the local missionary priest: "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?" "No," said the priest, "not if you did not know." "Then why," asked the [Inuk], "did you tell me?" Annie Dillard |
