Visit the neighbors just before dinner time.

I actually knew someone who used that meal plan and he quickly became
persona non grata at my house. It wouldn't have been so bad if he'd
ever reciprocated, but instead I had to listen to how he was feeding a
friend of his crab and lobster dinners while he was mooching off of
us. That little trick got old quickly.

It is not hard to keep the neighbors away and still be friendly. After
dinner let them see the dog or cat lick the plates clean and put the plates
directly back on the self.
When they leave put the plates in the dishwasher.

Best money saving food tip... Eat less.

That's good, Ed. LOL. Go on a diet that doesn't allow anything you really
like. Newspaper columnist Dr. Gott's diet would do it for me. His notion
of losing weight is to avoid anything white - sugar, flour and maybe
potatoes is on the list. Polly

Just ask if he's ready for the check yet.

Take the store ad to see what's on sale and lay out dinner for the
week with what's in the ad. That way you know what's on sale, are
writing down what you like, and have a cheap plan of dinners all laid
out.

Dumpster diving. (anyone can dumpster dive at a bakery, but the real
savings are behind the fish market) HTH :-)

Yup - my wife and I certainly eat much less than we did when we were
younger.

If we could only get this one to work with our two teenage boys ....

That is as bad as the tips I saw last week. Avoid anything creaming. Ice
cream, sour cream, ranch dressing, etc.

That is spectacular. Back in the late '70s, John Kuthe and I had an
apartment, and there were hippies that lived next door who liked to
mooch our food. So we started food coloring it strange colors. They
had no interest in the green spaghetti with black sauce.
