They were the only organization, governmental or private, that got aid
to New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. They offer cheap alternatives to those of us on a very tight budget. http://www.richardfisher.com |

You are right when you say they offer cheap alternatives...cheap being the key word. |

You might want to notify Salvation Army, among numerous others, that they weren't in New Orleans and their efforts were unnoticed and unappreciated. http://www.weatherwise.org/Archives/...l-jellets.html <http://tinyurl.com/yby4oby> pavane |

We are Hurricane Katrina survivors. Didn't need any aid; sheltered and helped everybody we could. There was help here from all over the world. Well, except for PETA. Polly |

The Salvation Army, Red Cross and other agencies did a lot of good in New Orleans... but some of the FIRST supplies that rolled into town were in Walmart trucks. I don't agree with all their business practices, but fact is that they did a huge amount of good after Katrina. George L |

Of course there were other organizations, although I'm not aware of other commercial companies or government agencies that did much good. http://www.richardfisher.com |

Just sayin' |

Just sayin' We could argue semantics but I did not state that I shopped at Walmart. (Actually I have a couple of times in the last 6 months.) http://www.richardfisher.com |

I know you have a bug up your butt about Walmart... and some (if not all) of your complaints are justified. But that doesn't negate the fact that in this case, they did a lot of good. While FEMA was scratching their ass and the Red Cross was mobilizing, Walmart had aid on the road moving into town. Read this: http://tinyurl.com/a2aco And this: http://tinyurl.com/343cav You really think they did this for "advertising"? You know... a drowning man really doesn't care WHO throws him a life jacket.
