Reeses are up to 16.8%, partially because I just voted for
them (yum)...

What I found even more baffling was, the current leader is Candy Corn!
Candy Corn?! One of the most disgusting, sweet-in-a-very-unpleasant-way,
candies that I know of, and furthermore, I don't see it being very popular
even among the kids. Candy corn always gets left by the kids, to be
discovered as a disgusting sticky pile under somebody's bed months later.

The only thing I can figure is, somehow it must be the object of some
particularly obsessive cult following.

BTW, for those interested in voting, a vote for Reese's at this point
increases its percentage total by 0.1%. As of now, it trails Candy Corn by
only 0.2 percentage points. We need 10 volunteers - put Reese's healthily
over the top! (as, I think it more accurately representative of the real
truth - I know that Reese's when I was a kid were so highly coveted people
would trade *anything* for them.)

Strange omissions: why are the American Smarties (the dextrose pastilles,
not the chocolate ones - too bad you don't find British/Canadian Smarties
in the USA - better than M&M's - bigger, more colours, better flavour), and
Kraft Caramels (or pick a caramel square) not on the list?

Depends where you shop. I can get Smarties at a local international
(oxymoron, that?) grocery store in Houston, Texas.

Y'know, now that you mention it, I didn't see any STARLIGHT MINTS on the
list! Imagine!

One of the things I like most about Halloween is the variety of candy
available. I don't have kids, but the parents of the kids who work in my
department invariably bring in a stash of candy to share. I see no need
to pick favorites. Anything that lacks coconut is fine with me.

Okay, just to complete the survey, I cast my vote for Baby Ruth, which
is one of the few candy bars with coconut that I enjoy. Than again, any
of the other choices on that survey would be fine with me.

Since when did Baby Ruth contain coconut? I've been eating them for
over 50 years and never saw one with coconut.

I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think Baby
Ruth has any coconut in it.
