Prestige Saucepan - replacement needed

Hi,

My wife is the proud owner of a set of Prestige Saucepans dating from 1993 -
stainless steel, copper bottomed, wooden handled. I have unfortunately been
responsible for the destruction of the 7 pint pan and she is not happy, to
put it mildly - they were my wedding present to her :-(

Prestige in the UK no longer support this range or have spares for sale -
does anyone know where I can get a replacement - either access to old stock
never sold or have a second-hand one they would be prepared to sell me?

If you can help please email me at my reply address, with the number 47
removed (i.e. <my name as one ).

Thanks!

Tim Davey

Well I can help in one way, if you want replies, either:-

Unmunge your address, why should people bother to jump through
hoops to do you a favour? I have a perfectly valid and functional
address here on usenet and it receives negligable quantities of
junk mail. Other addresses I have receive much more.

or:-

Accept replies here, that makes it even easier for your
respondents (or does that mean something specific and not someone
who responds?).

FWIW I'm not surprised your wife is upset, they're lovely pans, we
have a set which are 30 years or so old and are still just about as
good as new.

Why? :-)

We quite happily give each other such things and both enjoy using
them.

'Post here, Read here' - I thought that was one of the rules of Usenet?

I had some and replaced the knobs (rather expensive for wooden knobs)
from Prestige some 10 years ago because they had cracked. When I bought
my KitchenAid pans (no longer made) and several Le Pentole (gone bust)
pans, I gave them to my sister-in-law, who loves them.

Well pans are not really personal gifts are they? If we need pans or
kitchen stuff we buy them together. Still, whatever rocks your boat:)

Can't help with the replacement but I'd love to hear the story behind the
destruction.

my experience has been that any address I use on usenet gets
heavily spammed, so like many people, I use a sink address here.
It is of course bad form to expect email responses, as you say.

I don't expose my E-Mail address in the actual posting (in my .sig for
example), it's only picked up if someone does a 'R'eply to my posting.
I frequent 40 or more newsgroups and, as I say, it attracts a trivial
amount of junk mail. It may depend on membership of different groups
I suppose.

Neither did I, just in the reply to address. It may depend on the
news server you use?

Didn't realise it was bad form! I am of course reading responses here as
well if someone wanted to reply here! But then I think this has all gone off
topic, really, hasn't it :-)

At the risk of being obvious, have you tried eBay?

I have - and have left a search set up to email me if anything turns up -
thanks anyway :-)

Keep an eye out on http://www.eBay.co.uk. There's a small frying pan on
there right now, and the same vendor previously sold the large frying pan.

Cheers,
Rowan
