Unfortunately it's not the science that's at fault, but the human system of collecting and analyzing the evidence. There have been documented cases of police labs tampering with DNA evidence to increase conviction rates, etc. As long as human processes are error-prone (i.e. forever), the death penalty will kill the innocent. |
