Default More about "The Chew"

Looking for a local story about something else foodie, I ran across
this article. 24 hours ago, I would have passed it by because "The
Chew" would have meant nothing to me... but I knew what it was, so I
got curious.
<http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/09/26/the-chew-premiere-five-awkward-moments_n_981890.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000008>

For those who don't want to follow a link and watch a short video,
here's the synopsis:

The Chew premiered earlier today and it was immediately obvious the
hosts need a bit more time to work on their flow. <snip> Now, below
are some of the most cringe-worthy moments.

•Michael Symon asks an audience member why she thinks his pork recipe
is delicious. She responds that it is...delicious.
•Daphne Oz opens Ester-C tablets right into the blender. Yum.
•Michael Symon implores the audience to try a microplane.
•The audience cheers Carla Hall on for using toothpicks.
•Mario Batali demos a pizza recipe from a golf course in New Jersey.
He reveals, after a long pause, that Italian pizza is from Italy.

Watch at your own risk

I think these are mostly stupid criticisms. Look, I'm not trying to
sell the show, I only mentioned it because I thought people might
be interested, and yes, it's clear they're working on it just like
any new show. They do have an hour a day to fill.

The golf course is beautiful and overlooks the harbor and the
Statue of Liberty. He was there for a charity function that he
couldn't miss, so what? Oooo, Daphne put Vitamin C in her health
drink, alert the media! (laugh) I'm sorry the writer for the
Huffington Post felt so endangerd by watching the show.

Yeah, I haven't heard anything coming from them that makes
me think I should subscribe.

Their anti-vaccination stance also makes them
a public health menace. Last year 10 babies died
from a whooping cough epidemic fueled by misinformation
on the Internet about vaccines from sites like
Huffington Post.

There are no redeeming qualities about the Huffington
Post which can make up for the harm they cause.
